Here’s a sneak peek at the effects of Todd’s approach towards managing PCOD for a woman in his practice.
“This patient was a 26 year old female diagnosed with PCOS-induced amenorrhea, who only had one natural period in her reproductive life. She also presented with issues such as anxiety and IBS. She had previously sought the help of many different gynaecologists, with no success. Her drug history included oral contraceptives and SSRIs.
Initially, I applied a Paleo-inspired, Vata-reducing diet (with no gluten or dairy) along with live culture foods. In addition to this, I suggested a medicinal soup stock, prepared from marrow bones and herbs … Approximately one month after following this protocol, she had her first period since being a teenager. Upon the next visit I gave her a formula to help with her PMS.
During the next month, she went away on winter holidays with her family, and reported that her digestion was much better, but noticed she was feeling different, and was anxious because she did not have a period when she should have in late December. We discussed additional options to promote ovulation, but I asked to be patient.
