1. Gently warm the oil for increased relaxation. You can use the double boiler method or simply rub it between your palm to slightly heat it up.

2. Use the tips of your fingers to gently but firmly stimulate the marma points on the head. There are 37 marma points that carry great significance on the health, mood, energy and mind of an individual. During a head massage the following marmas should be focused on: 

• Adhipati: The “soft spot” located roughly 8 finger widths above the eyebrows, approximately at the center of the skull.
• Simantaka: Located 12 finger widths above the eyebrows
• Krikatika: 2 points located on either side behind the head where the neck meets the skull  
• Vidhuram: The depression behind both ears, just behind the earlobes. 
• Shankha: The depressions on both sides of the forehead between the end of the eyebrow and the hairline (temples) 

3. Remember to gently massage each marma in clockwise motions for upto 5 minutes. Avoid vigorous rubbing as it may damage not only the skin on the scalp but also the hair follicles.
